Frequently asked questions

Does it work with scanned documents?

No — this tool extracts embedded text (text that was typed in a word processor or PDF editor). If your PDF is a scanned image, there's no text layer to extract. You would need an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool for that.

Will the formatting be preserved?

The tool extracts raw text content — no bold, italic, or layout formatting. PDFs store text as positioned characters, not as structured paragraphs, so the output is plain text. It's ideal for grabbing the words themselves, not reproducing the exact layout.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Your document never leaves your device.

Is it free?

Completely free — no account, no limits.
