Visually extract ranges or split your PDF into multiple files.
About this tool
Split a PDF into Separate Files — Free & Instant
Need to pull out a few pages from a long report? Or break a document into chapters? This tool lets you extract exactly the pages you want — by range, by fixed size, or each page individually. Everything downloads as a neat ZIP file.
Three Split Modes
Pick specific pages (1-3, 7, 10-12), split into equal chunks (every 5 pages), or extract every page as its own file.
Visual Page Previews
See thumbnail previews of every page with colored part badges so you know exactly which pages go into which file before you split.
Completely Private
Your document stays on your computer. No uploads, no servers — the splitting happens right in your browser.
How to split a PDF
- 1
Open your PDF
Click "Select PDF File" or drag your document onto the page. Every page renders as a visual thumbnail.
- 2
Choose how to split
Type a page range (like "1-3, 5"), set a chunk size (every 5 pages), or choose "extract all pages" to get one file per page. Color-coded badges show you which pages go into which part.
- 3
Download the ZIP
Click "Split PDF" and all the parts download as a single ZIP file. Unzip it and you'll find each part as a separate PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can I extract just a few pages?
Yes. Use the custom range mode and type the pages you want — like "1-3, 7, 10-12". Only those pages will be included in the output.
How do I get the files after splitting?
Everything downloads as a single ZIP file. Unzip it and you'll find each part as a separate PDF document, neatly numbered.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The splitting happens entirely in your browser. Your document never leaves your device.
Will the quality change?
No. Pages are copied directly from the original — no re-rendering or compression. Each split file is identical in quality to the source.
Is it free?
Completely free — no account, no watermarks, no limits.
