What can you do in the page editor?
The Rotate & Organize tool gives you a full visual editor for your PDF's pages. Every page is rendered as a thumbnail in a scrollable grid. From there you can do everything in one place — rotate, reorder, delete, and extract.
Rotate pages
Rotate selected pages 90° left or right. The thumbnail updates immediately so you can confirm the orientation is correct.
Drag to reorder
Drag any page card left or right. A blue highlight line shows exactly where the page will land before you drop it.
Delete pages
Select pages and click Delete. Deleted pages disappear from the grid — they won't appear in the saved PDF.
Extract selected
Select pages and click Extract to download them as a separate PDF — without affecting the main document.
Step-by-step: Rotate and organize a PDF
Upload your PDF
Go to pdfking.net/rotate.html and upload your PDF. PDFKing renders every page as a thumbnail — a 20-page document gives you 20 previews.
Select the pages you want to work with
You have three ways to select pages:
Click a card — toggles that page's selection on or off.
Shift + click — selects all pages between your last click and the current one. Great for selecting a long range quickly.
Select All button — selects or deselects every page in one click. If all pages are selected, it deselects all.
Rotate selected pages
With pages selected, click or in the toolbar. The thumbnail rotates visually so you can confirm it looks right. You can rotate the same page multiple times — each click adds 90°.
Drag pages to reorder
Grab any page card and drag it. A blue vertical indicator line appears on the left or right side of target cards as you hover, showing exactly where the dragged page will land. Drop to confirm the new position.
Delete or extract (optional)
Select pages you want to remove and click the trash icon — they're removed from the grid and won't appear in the saved PDF. Or click Extract to save selected pages as a separate PDF file while keeping the main document intact.
Save your PDF
Enter a filename in the toolbar field and click Save PDF. Your reorganized document downloads immediately. The header also shows the page count and file size for reference.
Tips for working faster
- Shift-click is the fastest way to select a long run of pages — click the first, then shift-click the last, and everything in between is selected.
- You can deselect individual pages from a shift-selected range by clicking them again.
- Rotate before reordering — it's easier to spot which pages need rotating when they're still in original order.
- The page number badge (top-right of each card) always shows the current position in the grid, updating as you drag and reorder.
- Deleting a page doesn't affect the original file — you can always close the tab and start over if you make a mistake.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a deletion?
Not currently within the tool — deleted pages are removed from the grid immediately. If you accidentally delete the wrong page, reload the tab and re-upload your original PDF to start over.
Can I rotate and reorder at the same time?
Yes. Both changes are applied together when you save. Rotate whichever pages need it, reorder everything, then click Save PDF — all edits are applied in one pass.
What does Extract do vs Save PDF?
Save PDF downloads the full current page grid (minus deleted pages) as one document. Extract downloads only the selected pages as a separate PDF — useful for pulling out a few pages to share without saving the entire modified document.
Does rotating change the actual page content?
No. PDFKing sets the PDF rotation flag — a metadata property that tells viewers how to display the page. The actual content data is unchanged. This is exactly how Adobe Acrobat handles rotation too.
